By this time, last year, I had decorated my home for Christmas! WHAT CHANGED? It is not the excuse that my ‘babies’ have flown from the nest, save 2 still trying to stretch their wings for that final flight or are they too cosy in the nest to make the flight? I leave that to Papa God, our Creator. Christmas, aside our celebrating our Lord’s birth, is personal to every one of us. For me, it is also the rebirth of another mile stone to achieve in my life. Because it comes towards the end of a year and marks the beginning of a new era, I set life goals and writing goals. I hope to finish a new poetry collection by Christmas, set from December 2021. Hopefully. For my life goals, I had planned house decluttering, to be more active in my Christian life and to lose weight. All will be a carry-over! So all those years you decorated the house for Xmas, was it for the season, family or for Lord Jesus? Searching my heart, I realise that for the past 30 years, I did the Xmas decorating. ALONE. Is yours a family thing? I know Donna Fetcher’s home is always heavily and beautifully decorated for the Xmas season [Judging from her last year’s December Newsletter] and maybe many of you as well. Have you done yours yet? Do you decorate lightly or heavily? I have written one Christmas poem inspired from one of us writing one last year December in the MTW post. I haven’t yet written a Christmas story. The idea of decorating the home for Xmas can create an upbeat tone or mood and an atmosphere of excitement, no matter the genre. Have you done any Christmas writing? Well, guess what everyone – I’m simply going to see what will happen in my home this Xmas season!! Will it get decorated for Xmas or not? Find out next month!

Reading this book felt like listening to words from the author’s heart. Issues that can impact people for the worse are explained in her own unique voice. I enjoyed reading concepts of the Christian faith explored freshly from the author’s perspective. It felt like I was being spoken to directly. The book is divided into five sections. It is a wordy book and I feel each part could eventually become separate booklets on their own. I read each part and allowed it to sink into my mind before starting a new part. It’s not a book to be rushed over. The author draws examples from both life and the Bible to back up her specific ideas on topics such as ‘Divine blue print, Weather people, Divine mandate, Recognition Deficiency Syndrome, Utilization weapon, Environmental error, etc. These concepts appeared intriguing and mystifying until reading through each part of the book enlightened me to understanding matters of God’s purpose and plan for one’s life. Amara Ezenwa sees the human life on earth as God’s written manuscript for each individual. I found this very interesting and enjoyed the explorations to this concept throughout the book. I recommend this book and it is worth its 5 stars. When life happens, You think of your dreams. Those dreams of splendour, inspired by magnificent desires. Great goals to achieve, that overcome limitations, And challenges, And rising to the ladder top, Of glory, and shinning down On all who are below, Like a king in majesty. When life comes in the way, What can sway it away? Who can tell it to go away? It makes family shun your dreams. They hate you for the light they see in you. They despise that you are favoured. They are fearful you are a rising star. Those closest to you are jealous. They ponder and wonder and shudder, boiling in hateful stews, that kill all filial bonds of love. You see yourself as a rainbow in the sky Dressed in robes of many dazzling colours You were being singled out over others. You have enjoyed unique favour, That ignited a hidden fire. Soon the flames blaze around you. The heat wakes you. It’s no dream. You are in a pit - Dark, steep, deep and gloomy. Your cries elicit hateful laughter. You are not a dreamer, You are a slave, In a foreign land. Those dreams, were they lies? Now you are a servant. It doesn’t get better. You are a prisoner. You stop counting the rolling years. Your family is a dream. Your life in Canaan is a dream. You believe it’s all a nightmare, You will wake up from. You become a dream interpreter - What an irony! Your dreams landed you in prison! It was a dream that freed you from prison! It was a dream that shot you up, To the position of prime minister, In Egypt. It was a dream that brought reconciliation With your Canaan family. It was a dream that made you a saviour Of kingdoms. This is a very interesting book, especially if you love mysteries, suspense and intrigue which make all the right ingredients in a story about finding a quest that seems impossible!Well written. |
