Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us - Ephesians 3:20
During my poetry event in December 2022, I was amazed at the way my invited guests reacted when I read Joseph’s Dream. I have decided to share it with you all. It is written to encourage anyone whose dreams have not yet being realised as time flies by but to remember that God’s plans will prevail as long as we hold Him in trust. JOSEPH’S DREAM When life happens, You think of your dreams. Those dreams of splendour, Inspired by magnificent desires. Great goals to achieve, that Overcome limitations, And challenges, And rising to the ladder top, Of glory, and shinning down On all who are below, Like a king in majesty. When life comes in the way, What can sway it away? Who can tell it to go away? It makes family shun your dreams. They hate you for the light they see in you. They despise that you are favoured. They are fearful you are a rising star. Those closest to you are jealous. They ponder and wonder and shudder, Boiling in hateful stews, That kills all filial bonds of love. You see yourself as a rainbow in the sky Dressed in robes of many dazzling colours You were being singled out over others. You have enjoyed unique favour, That ignited a hidden fire. Soon the flames blaze around you. The heat wakes you. It’s no dream. You are in a pit - Dark, deep, steep and gloomy. Your cries elicit hateful laughter. You are not a dreamer. You are a slave in a foreign land. Those dreams, were they lies? Now you are a servant. It doesn’t get better. You are a prisoner. You stop counting the rolling years. Your family is a dream. Your life in Canaan is a dream. You believe it’s all a nightmare, You will wake up from. You become a dream interpreter - What an irony! Your dreams landed you in prison! It was a dream that freed you from prison! It was a dream that shot you up, To the position of prime minister, In Egypt! It was a dream that brought reconciliation With your Canaan family! It was a dream that made you a saviour Of kingdoms! I pray that in 2023, our dreams of excellent health, writing goals and writing achievements will align with the great plans God has for each of us. May Ephesians 3:20, be the portion of each of us by the Grace of God in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the power of His Holy Spirit. Amen. #ACW #Poetry #Dreams #Encouragement #amwriting #Associationofchristianwriters #TrustingGod
